A rich blend of old and new makes Edmonds distinctive. Accented by art, colorful hanging baskets, and vintage street lamps, the pedestrian-friendly downtown reflects the scale and design elements of the past with the former Carnegie Library Historical Museum, a log cabin Visitor Center, and a 1920s Art Deco movie theater.   www.ci.edmonds.wa.us/vGuide.stm

Edmonds Historical Society & Museum   The Historical Society is fortunate to have a building so well suited as a museum showplace. In 1910, a grant from the Carnegie Foundation enabled the City of Edmonds to erect a beautiful brick and stone building which served as a library on the upper floor, and as City Hall on the bottom floor. It has been placed on the National Register of Historic Buildings. Through the efforts of the Historical Society, the cooperation of the Edmonds City Council and then Mayor Harve Harrison, the building was made available to the Historical Society for museum purposes. It was formally opened on August 3, 1973.

Port of Edmonds   The Port of Edmonds 665 slip boat marina was created in 1962. It is the centerpiece of the Edmonds waterfront. The pleasant promenade and sturdy covered docks have all but erased the memories of the belching smokestacks and disrepair of the area’s early industrial era. Dedicated citizens gave their time and committed their resources to construct what is today the finest and friendliest public marina in the Pacific Northwest. They set out to build a marina and they created a legacy.

Edmonds Yacht Club   The Edmonds Yacht Club was founded in 1961 in conjunction with the opening of the Port of Edmonds boat harbor as a focal point for those who wished to enhance their enjoyment of boat ownership with the social camaraderie of fellow boaters. Our membership consists of a wide spectrum of boaters, from families with young children to retired grandparents and a whole bunch in between.  We're an active, cruising club that conducts a cruise almost every month. We usually conduct a major cruise around the three main summer holidays, Port Orchard or Bremerton for the Memorial Day weekend, San Juan Islands during the Independence Day holiday and Port Ludlow for the Labor Day weekend. We often plan an extended cruise further north into Canada following our July 4th event.
